American Ringtail
History:
In the San Francisco, Bay Area, a cat rescuer Susan Manley raised a kitten that seemed to be a bit strange; this was in 1998. Ringtails are still somewhat rare, but there are cat breeders of this unusual cart across the US and Canada.
Physical Traits:
*Distinct ring like tail (They can move their tail like any other cat but prefer to keep it curled up)
*Relatively long and muscular
*Comes in many colors and patterns
What does it take to keep one?
*These cats are very friendly and affectionate
*Health: since the curl in the tail is caused by a particular gene it is not health hazarding and there are no prominent diseases in their breed. But regular check ups are good.
*Grooming: These cats come in both long hair and shorthair. Long hair would be good to brush every day or every other day. Shorthair at least once a week.
Since this is a very new cat breed I couldn't find much else about them, including an average price range, sorry!
Is this cat family friendly?
*Yes
