American Bobtail


American Bobtail

History:
The American Bobtail was supposedly not the mating between a wildcat and a domestic cat, as one would think; there have been tests on these cats and have not found any similarity besides the appearance. The American Bobtail is a rare breed, a natural genetic mutation that shortens the tail.

Physical Traits:

*Medium/Large Size Cat
*Distinct look about it
*Muscular form (that of a natural hunter)
*Short tail

What does it take to keep one?

*Grooming: this cat doesn’t require too much grooming a once a week (minimum) brush thorough should be good.

*Diet: this breed would probably enjoy a bit of raw meat, but other than that dry food and wet food should be good, maybe a bit of fresh fish would make them happy.

*Health: This cat is a pretty healthy breed but no cat is immune to all sickness regular check ups are going to keep your friend happy and healthy

Is this cat family friendly?

Yes, this cat is good for families.
They are strong and loyal, some almost say ‘dog like’.
Although these are great companions if you’re house is empty all too often this is not the kind of cat you want.
These cats suffer from separation anxiety especially if they are left alone inside the home for too long too often.
